Justified Before God

Series: Daily Light from the Word — Day 8

Scripture Reading:

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Romans 5:1 (KJV)

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 3:24 (KJV)

Declared Righteous

The word “justified” is a legal term that means to be declared righteous. When a sinner places faith in Jesus Christ, God declares that person righteous in His sight. This does not mean the believer has never sinned. It means that Christ’s righteousness has been credited to them.

Through justification, the guilt of sin is removed and the believer stands accepted before God.

Peace with God

Before salvation, every person stands under the judgment of sin. But when a person is justified by faith, that relationship changes completely. Scripture declares that we now have peace with God through Jesus Christ.

This peace is not simply a feeling; it is a restored relationship. The barrier created by sin has been removed because Christ paid the full penalty.

A Gift of Grace

Justification is given freely by God’s grace. It is not something earned through works or religious effort. It is made possible through the redemption that is found in Christ alone.

Because of this, believers can stand confidently before God, knowing that their acceptance is based on Christ’s righteousness rather than their own.

Living in the Peace of God

Understanding justification should fill the believer with gratitude and humility. We are accepted not because of our goodness, but because of God’s grace.

Each day becomes an opportunity to live in the peace that Christ has secured for us.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of justification through Jesus Christ. Thank You that through faith in Him I can have peace with You. Help me live each day in gratitude for the righteousness You have provided. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
