Series: Daily Light from the Word — Day 9
Scripture Reading:
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
— John 1:12 (KJV)
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
— Romans 8:15 (KJV)
A New Relationship
Salvation does more than forgive sin. It brings the believer into a new relationship with God. Scripture teaches that those who receive Christ are given the privilege of becoming the children of God.
This truth reveals the depth of God’s love. The believer is not merely pardoned but welcomed into God’s family. Through faith in Christ, we are adopted as His sons and daughters.
Freedom from Fear
Before salvation, sin places a person in bondage and fear before a holy God. But when a person trusts Christ, that relationship changes. Instead of fear, there is now the freedom of belonging to God’s family.
Through the Spirit of adoption, believers can approach God with confidence and reverence, knowing He is their heavenly Father.
The Privilege of Being God’s Child
Adoption into God’s family brings many blessings. The believer receives God’s love, His guidance, His care, and the promise of an eternal inheritance. This relationship is not temporary. It is established by God Himself.
Every day becomes an opportunity to live as a child of God, trusting His wisdom and walking in His ways.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of being adopted into Your family through Jesus Christ. Help me remember that I belong to You and live each day in a way that honors You. Strengthen my faith and guide my steps today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
