Called to Be a Witness

Series: Daily Light from the Word — Day 41

Scripture Reading:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me.”
— Acts 1:8 (KJV)

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD.”
— Isaiah 43:10 (KJV)

A Clear Calling

Every believer has been given a clear calling—to be a witness for Jesus Christ. This calling is not limited to a select few, but is given to all who have experienced the saving grace of God. A witness simply tells what they know to be true.

Having received the Gospel, believers are now entrusted with the responsibility of sharing it with others.

Empowered to Witness

Jesus promised that believers would receive power through the Holy Spirit. This power is not for personal gain, but for the purpose of witnessing. God does not call His people to do this work alone—He equips them to fulfill it.

This means that even when we feel uncertain or inadequate, we can trust that God will give the strength and words needed.

A Life That Speaks

Being a witness is not only about what we say—it is also about how we live. Our actions, attitudes, and responses reflect the reality of Christ in us.

A consistent, Christ-centered life supports the message we share with others.

Faithfulness in the Call

God does not require perfection, but faithfulness. Each believer is called to share the truth as opportunities arise. Whether through conversation, kindness, or testimony, every effort matters.

Being a witness begins with a willing heart.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be a witness. Help me to be faithful in sharing the truth of Your Word. Give me courage and wisdom to speak when opportunities arise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
