Series: Daily Light from the Word — Day 44
Scripture Reading:
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them.”
— Matthew 9:36 (KJV)
The Heart of Christ
Jesus was moved with compassion for those who were lost and without hope. He saw beyond outward appearances and recognized their spiritual need.
This same compassion should be reflected in the hearts of believers.
Seeing People as God Sees Them
It is easy to overlook the spiritual needs of others. Yet when we view people through the lens of Scripture, we recognize their need for salvation.
Compassion changes how we respond—it moves us from indifference to concern.
Love That Acts
True compassion leads to action. It motivates believers to pray, to speak, and to reach out. It removes barriers and creates opportunities to share the Gospel.
Compassion reflects the love of Christ in a visible way.
A Burden for Souls
As believers grow, they develop a deeper concern for others. This burden leads to faithful prayer and a desire to see lives changed through the Gospel.
Compassion strengthens our witness and aligns our hearts with God’s purpose.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, give me a heart of compassion. Help me see others as You see them and respond with love. Burden my heart for those who need You and guide me in reaching them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
